"Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships" -- USS Salvia
From March to April 1944, Salvia performed general aid to navigation and ice-breaking duty on the Great Lakes. In May 1944, she was assigned to the 5th District, stationed at Portsmouth, Va., and used for general aid to navigation duty until the end of the War.
