USS Uncas (SP-689), 1917-1918. Later renamed SP-689.
Originally the civilian motorboat Uncas

USS Uncas, a 60-foot section patrol boat, was built in 1917 at Greenport, Long Island, New York for a private owner, with the intention of offering to the Navy. She was acquired in late June 1917 and served in the New York area for the rest of the First World War. Uncas was renamed SP-689 in April 1918 to avoid confusion with the Navy tug of the same name. She was returned to her owner on the last day of 1918, nearly two months after the Armistice.

This page features all the views we have of USS Uncas (SP-689), and provides links to other images related to her.
