USS SC-669, a 95-ton 110-foot submarine chaser, was built at Datona Beach, Florida. Commissioned in July 1942, she was intially based at Charleston, South Carolina. In September 1942, she was reassigned to the Gulf Sea Frontier. Later, SC-669 was sent to the Pacific for employment in the South Pacific, with her home yard at Pearl Harbor. She arrived at Tutuila, Samoa, in late January 1943. In October 1945, she was assigned to the 12th Naval District and was decommissioned the next month. USS SC-669 was sold in March 1947.
