USS Nausett (YT-35), 1918-1933.
Originally the civilian harbor tug Carl R. Gray (1918).
Served as USS Carl R. Gray (ID # 2671) in 1918-1920

USS Nausett, a 115 gross ton harbor tug, was built in 1918 at Baltimore, Maryland, as the civilian tug Carl R. Gray. She was purchased by the Navy in October 1918 and placed in commission as USS Carl R. Gray (ID # 2671) for service with the Fifth Naval District. In August 1919 she was transferred to the Fourth Naval District and in November 1920 she was renamed and redesignated, becoming Nausett (YT-35). For the rest of her Naval career the tug served in the vicinity of the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Pennsylvania. She was decommissioned at the end of February 1933, stricken from the Navy list a few weeks later, and sold in May of that year.

This page features all the views we have concerning USS Nausett (YT-35), which was previously the civilian tug Carl R. Gray and USS Carl R. Gray (ID # 2671).
