USS LST-702, 1944-1947

USS LST-702, a 2366-ton LST-511 class tank landing ship, was built at Jeffersonville, Indiana. Commissioned in June 1944, she spent her active career in the Pacific, taking part in the Okinawa campaign during the spring of 1945. In the months following the Second World War's end, LST-702 assisted with the occupation of Japan, then served in Chinese waters until April 1946. Decommissioned in July 1946, soon after her return to the U.S., she was sold for scrapping in October 1947.

This page features the only view we have concerning USS LST-702.
