    USS Great Northern
    (ID # 4569)

    Collision damage to the ship's stern, 1918.
    This is probably damage received when Great Northern collided with the British ship Brinkburn at 2.30 AM on 3 October 1918, while about 500 miles off the coast of France. Seven Army passengers were killed in that accident.
