Daisy (American Motor Boat, 1904).
Served as USS Daisy (SP-1186) during World War I.
Daisy, a 69.2-foot motor boat, was built by W.P. Kirk
of Toms River, New Jersey, in 1904. In June 1917 she was acquired
by the Navy for World War I service. Placed in commission in December
of that year as USS Daisy (SP-1186), she was employed in
Florida waters and was presumably returned to her owner following
the end of the conflict.
This page features the only views we have concerning the
motor boat Daisy, which became USS Daisy (SP-1186)
in 1917.

Daisy (American Motor Boat, 1904)
In harbor, prior to her World War I Navy service.
This craft was acquired by the Navy, under charter, on 9 June
1917 and subsequently served in Florida waters as Daisy
(SP-1186).
She appears to be employed as an excursion boat in this photograph.
The boat whose stern is visible just beyond Daisy's bow
appears to be the Meita, of St. Petersburg, Florida, which
was also Daisy's home port.
