Clifton (American Motor Boat, 1915)
Served as USS Clifton (SP-2080) in 1917-1918

Clifton, a 22 gross ton (55-foot) motor boat, was built in 1915 by L. Johnson of Crittenden, Virginia. In August 1917 the U.S. Navy acquired her from the Commonwealth of Virginia's Fish Commission. Placed in commission as USS Clifton (SP-2080), she probably served in Virginia waters for most of World War I, and was returned to her owners in October 1918.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Clifton, which was USS Clifton (SP-2080) in 1917-1918.

Clifton (American Motor Boat, 1915)

In port, possibly prior to her World War I era Naval service.
Acquired by the Navy from the Virginia Fish Commission, this craft placed in commission on 6 August 1917 as USS Clifton (SP-2080). She was returned to her owners on 22 October 1918.
