Clarinda, a 98-foot (76 gross ton) motor yacht, was built in 1913 by the Matthews Boat Company of Port Clinton, Ohio. She was acquired by the Navy in July 1917. Placed in commission in November of that year as Clarinda (SP-185), during the First World War she performed patrol and pilot duties in the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina. The Navy kept her following the conflict and she remained active in the Charleston area until decommissioned in late December 1930. Clarinda was sold at the beginning of June 1931.
This page features all the views we have concerning the motor yacht Clarinda, which was USS Clarinda (SP-185) in 1917-1931.
