Betty M. II, a 60-foot motor boat, was built at Sibley, Michigan, in 1916 for use as a pleasure craft. She was acquired by the Navy under lease for World War I service and placed in commission in early September 1917 as USS Betty M. II (SP-623). During the 1917 and 1918 Great Lakes shipping seasons, she was employed in the vicinity of Detroit, Michigan, on transport and mail duties. Decommissioned in November 1918, Betty M. II was returned to her owner in March 1919.
This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Betty M. II, which was USS Betty M. II (SP-623) in 1917-1919.
