Alabama (American Motor Boat, 1906)

Alabama, a 69-foot motor boat, was built at South Boston, Massachusetts, in 1906 for use as a pleasure craft. In July 1917 she was enrolled in the Naval Coast Defense Reserve, with the registry number SP-1052, and ordered to be taken over for World War I U.S. Navy service. However, it appears that this action was not carried out and she remained in civilian hands.

This pleasure craft was enrolled in the Naval Coast Defense Reserve on 26 July 1917 and given the registry number SP-1052. However, she appears not to have been taken over for actual Naval service.
