Normandy Invasion, June 1944

Transfer point on "Omaha" Beach, where the cargos of DUKW amphibious trucks were reloaded on other trucks for transfer to supply and ammunition depots. Photographed on 19 July 1944.
A "Gooseberry" artificial breakwater of sunken ships is in the distance, with the old British battleship Centurion in the center. Note the "X" shaped section of "Bombardon" floating breakwater beached near the shoreline in the left center.
