British and U.S. Cruisers in Manila Bay,
circa November-December 1906
The British cruisers, in the left side of the photo, are (from
left to right): HMS Astræa, HMS Monmouth,
HMS Diadem and HMS King Alfred.
The U.S. Navy cruisers, in the center and right, are USS Pennsylvania
(Armored Cruiser # 4), USS West Virginia (Armored Cruiser
# 5), USS Colorado (Armored Cruiser # 7) and USS Maryland
(Armored Cruiser # 8). Of those, Maryland is second from
right and West Virginia (flying an admiral's flag) is
third from right.
In left center, seen from off the port bow, is the ferry running
between Cavite and Manila.
