Photo #: NH 105209 USS Jan van Nassau (ID # 2805) This Dutch freighter, built in 1913, was seized by the U.S. Navy at San Juan, Puerto Rico, and commissioned on 20 March 1918. She was probably photographed when inspected by the Third Naval District on 16 May 1918, one day before being turned over to the Shipping Board. Note the U.S. Jack flying at her bow.
