(American Fishing Vessel, 1912)

Hauled out of the water, prior to her World War I Naval service. Note the "B" on her smokestack, representing her owner, the Bay State Fishing Company of Boston, Massachusetts.
This steam trawler was ordered delivered to the Navy on 13 June 1918 and placed in commission on 29 June as USS Billow (ID # 1704). She was returned to her owner on 30 November 1918.
