North European Invasion Rehersals, spring 1944

Scene on a landing beach, probably at or near Slapton Sands, England, during rehersals for the Normandy invasion. A M4 "Sherman" tank, with floatation skirts, is partially visible at left.
USS LCT-624 is beached in the center, with USS LCI(L)-85 beyond. The latter was lost during the invasion.
Photographed by a U.S. Coast Guard photographer from USS Samuel Chase (APA-26), using a 35mm camera.
