USS Repose (AH-16)
"Shipmates look on as Albert Owen, Commissaryman Second
Class, USNR, ... explains just how he baked and decorated this
100 pound birthday cake."
"The birthday cake was in commemoration of the U.S. Navy
Hospital Ship Repose. One year ago September 20 the 'Queen
of the Orient' pulled into Pusan Harbor, Korea. Since that time
she has handled 9,487 bed patients and uncounted thousands of
out patients. The 782 bed hospital ship, besides her crew, carries
25 doctors, 30 nurses and 199 enlisted Navy corpsmen."
