USS Valley Forge (CV-45)


Arrives at San Diego, California, 1 December 1950, following seven month's service in Far Eastern waters and five months of Korean War Operations. A few days later, she was hurriedly recalled to the war zone to help counter the Chinese Communist offensive.
A Fletcher class destroyer is moored in the left foreground, and several YMS-type minesweepers are alongside the waterfront at right.
