San Juan
(American Commercial Steamship, 1904)

Underway prior to her World War I era Naval service.
Built in 1904 by J.F. Duthie of Seattle, Washington, this small ship was taken over by the Navy on 20 December 1917 and placed in commission on 8 March 1918 as USS San Juan (ID # 1352). She was returned to her owner, the San Juan Packing Company of Seattle, on 12 February 1919.
