Photo #: NH 91246 S.S. Zyrianin (Soviet Freighter, 1912) At San Francisco, California, 19 August 1943, with a harbor tug alongside. This ship was the American merchantman Dakotan from 1912 to 1942, and served as USS Dakotan (ID # 3882) in 1919. She was transferred to the U.S.S.R. under lend-lease in 1942 and was listed in "Lloyd's Register" until the 1970-1971 edition. U.S. Naval Historical Center Photograph.
