Burning of French Transport Vinh-Long, 16 December 1922


USS Bainbridge (DD-246) off Constantinople, Turkey, on 16 December 1922, with 482 survivors on board. She had rescued them that morning them from the Vinh-Long, which was afire in the Sea of Marmora.
Note Bainbridge's ensign flying at half-mast.
