"Great White Fleet" World Cruise,
December 1907 -- February 1909
Embroidered tapestry commemorating the cruise, featuring portraits
of (from left to right):
Rear Admiral Robley D. Evans, who commanded the Fleet during
its voyage from the Atlantic to the Pacific;
President Theodore Roosevelt; and
Rear Admiral Charles S. Sperry, who commanded the Fleet after
it reached the U.S. West Coast.
Below the portraits are a depiction of the Fleet underway in
column formation, and a round group photograph of three unidentified
enlisted men.
