Captain Robert Brodie, Jr., USN


Reads his orders to assume command of USS Missouri (BB-63), during ceremonies held on board the ship at Yokosuka, Japan, 4 April 1953. Vice Admiral Joseph J. Clark, Commander, Seventh Fleet, is at left.
Captain Brodie relieved Commander James R. North, who had been acting Commanding Officer since the death of Captain Warner R. Edsall on 26 March 1953.
