Photo #: 80-G-252753 Normandy Invasion, June 1944 Scene near the "Omaha" Beach shoreline on 11 June 1944, with a pile of steel obstructions at left. These appear to have been removed from their "service" locations and gathered into one place for the convenience of the invading forces. Note the "Gooseberry" breakwater of sunken ships in the distance, and DUKW amphibious truck approaching the beach in right center.
