Normandy Invasion Preparations, 1944

A mobile crane lifts a crate during pre-invasion loading in an English port, circa late May or early June 1944.
USS LST-374 (center) and USS LST-314 (extreme right) are at the ramps in the background. LST-314 was sunk by German motor torpedo boats on 9 June 1944.
The numbers at the peaks of the LST bows are apparently berth numbers.
