Brown & Shaffer
Brown & Shaffer were active in about 1907-1909, when they took several
photographs of and on board U.S. Navy ships during and soon after
the "Great
White Fleet" World cruise. They may have been Naval personnel
who made photographs for shipmates as a side business, a common
practice during the first few decades of the 20th Century. Most
the original photographs we have by Brown & Shaffer are postcard
size prints from the same collection.
